Thales Cryogenics, together with Thales Nederland Optronics, will again participate in the annual SPIE conference, presenting many operating demos of new small linear and rotary coolers and their usage in various cameras.

Besides the new coolers, we also introduce and demonstrate the ground breaking Cooler Diagnostic Software, which will monitor performance of linear coolers installed in cameras and predict the remaining operational lifetime, thus contributing to a significant cost reduction in life cycle of the system : Affordable health-CARE for cryogenic coolers!

This software concept is also presented in the Claire and in the new Seagull MW TI camera family, both containing linear cooler technology.
On camera level this:
  • generates maximum uptime
  • reduces life cycle cost
  • predicts maintenance intervals

From our complete range of Rotary Coolers, the RM1 will be presented which is used in the Sophie camera. However, attention will be put on the RM3 cooler as a FFF replacement for most of the commonly used dewars.

More technology background will be presented in Session 15: Cryocoolers for IR Focal Plane Arrays:

  • Development of RM1, 27 th April 4.30 PM, session 15 DS100-115.
  • Lifetime testing results and diagnostic performance prediction of linear coolers at Thales Cryogenics 5.10 PM session 15 DS100-117.
Also a demo of the Cooler Diagnostic Software will be given on the Exhibitor Product Demonstration on Wednesday, 27 April at 10:30 am, please use “info on SPIE” for the exact location.

We hope to welcome you on our booth during the exhibition and bear in mind;
